Saudi Arabia won the group stage match against Yemen in the 2024 Arabian Gulf Cup with a score of 3-2 on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
The match took place at Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Stadium in Kuwait. Yemen's defender Harwan Al Zubaidi scored the team's first goal in the eighth minute with assistance from Abdulwasea Al Matari with a cross following a corner.
The team secured their second goal in the 27th minute by the team's midfielder Abdul Majeed Sabarah who right-footed the shot from the center of the box to the center of the goal.
Although, Yemen was leading in terms of score, Saudi Arabia soon scored their first goal in the 30th minute. The team's midfielder Mohamed Kanno shot a header from the center of the box to the bottom right corner. He received assistance from Musab Al Juwayr with a cross following a set-piece situation.
In the second half, Al Juwayr converted the penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner, securing the Saudi Arabian's team second goal.
In the 90+3rd minute, Saudi Arabia's secured their third goal when Abdullah Al Hamddan left-footed shot from from very close range to the top left corner following a corner.
No other goal was scored by either team for the remainder of the match, allowing Saudi Arabia to win.
Saudi Arabia's next match is against Iraq on Saturday, Dec. 28.
