Oman won the group stage match of the Arabian Gulf Cup against Qatar on Tuesday, Dec. 24 with a score of 2-1.
The match took place at the Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Stadium in Kuwait. Qatar secured its first and only goal in the match at the beginning of the match; the team's striker Almoez Ali with assistance from Ibrahim Al Hassan.
However, Oman's striker Issam Al Sabhi scored a penalty goal within 18 minutes, tying the teams' scores. For the remaining time of the first half, neither team scored another goal.
After half-time, Al Sabhi scored another goal for the Omani team in the 52nd minute with assistance from Abdulrahman Al-Mushaifri.
Oman's next match is with the UAE on Friday, Dec. 27.
