Two limited-edition T-shirts donating 100% of the profits to Palestinian hospitals.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 08 December 2021 – The Giving Movement, the region’s first sustainable athleisure brand, has just released its first charity capsule fully dedicated to Palestine. Consisting of two limited-edition T-shirts, the capsule is designed with a symbolic watermelon above the phrase “we are all with you” in Arabic. Under the title of “Keep the conversation going,” the brand adds this campaign to its disruptive purpose of sparking conversation on things that matter and making a tangible difference, whether it’s charities, sustainability or making an impactful difference.

All profits from the collection will go towards two different surgical teams in Palestine. The donations will support the solar electrification of a hospital in Gaza, while providing the second hospital with oxygen generators. Both initiatives lessen the dependency on unreliable electricity grids and emergency generators. The oxygen generators particularly offer a more reliable solution than the current oxygen cylinders on which most hospitals depend. Ultimately, the donations are allowing medical care to continue during escalation and weak electricity.

With this capsule, The Giving Movement is hoping to help fulfill a third of The Big Heart Foundation’s commitment to raise $500,000 in support for Palestine. The collection will consist of 2,000 pieces only, fully donated to the cause.

The symbolic watermelon slice represents our support for Palestine — paying tribute to the colours of its flag and the succulent watermelons of its land. Supporting its artistic imagery and the colours of the Palestinian flag of red, white, black and green, is an empowering Arabic phrase stating “we’re all with you”. The embroidery is more than a design, it’s an everlasting echo of brotherhood.

The collection is made from the signature Softskin100© fabric, 100% sustainable and made from 80% recycled polyester and 20% recycled spandex. The fabric is designed to be buttery-soft and lightweight.

ABOUT THE GIVING MOVEMENT

Launched in April 2020, The Giving Movement is Dubai’s homegrown streetwear label created to alter the way fashion is consumed and shed light on conscious consumerism.  With the philosophy of “small acts multiplied by many can transform the world,” The Giving Movement donates $4 to charity with each item sold. The amount is enough to ensure basic needs (food, shelter, water) for a child in need for one week. The local gamechanger invests in eco-friendly innovation through 100% sustainable fabrics, recycled nylon and polyester, organic cotton and organic bamboo — normalising the use of sustainable fabrics to make them more accessible and cost-effective. The sustainable and ethical values of the brand trickle down through its supply chain: ensuring that all workers in every aspect of production are provided with fair wages and working conditions. Everything is sourced locally in the UAE, from supply to production, letting the brand contribute to the local and regional economy. With collections made for women, men and kids, the brand channels Humanity in Motion through sustainable hoodies, sweats, T-shirts, joggers, jackets and more — and has exclusive curated collections for modesty and maternity. The Giving Movement ships internationally, with same-day delivery in the UAE and express delivery across the world.
