The residence permits will be automatically revoked on that date, according to a statement made by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) for Residency Affairs, Fawaz Al-Masha'an, and they won't be permitted to enter the country again until completely new procedures and approvals have been taken.
Additionally, the campaign would not continue the initiative to permit holders of family visas who have been away from home for more than six months to reunite with their families past January 31.
During the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Ministry of Interior made the humane decision to renew residency permits online. The privilege is scheduled to expire on January 31.
In particular, for holders of family visas, the ministry states that the period of an expat's presence outside the country will be calculated from 1 August 2022 until 31 January 2023, after which their residency will be automatically canceled in accordance with Article 12, Paragraph 3 of the Foreigners' Residence Law.
