Kuwait's Foreign Minister, Abdullah Al-Yahya, has announced a collaboration with Britain, revealing plans to initiate a new electronic travel permit for Kuwaiti citizens. The process is set to commence on February 1, 2024, with the permit becoming valid for travel to the United Kingdom starting from February 22. Al-Yahya emphasized ongoing discussions and coordination with British authorities, highlighting the objective of simplifying travel procedures for Kuwaitis.

Electronic Travel Permit Launch

The Foreign Minister detailed that the launch of the electronic travel permit aims to enhance flexibility for Kuwaiti travelers, eliminating the need for a visa when visiting the United Kingdom. He revealed that joint steering committee meetings between Britain and Kuwait are scheduled for February 12 and 13 in Kuwait, led by high-level officials from both sides, including Lord Tariq Ahmad, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and the United Nations.

Advancing Bilateral Relations

Al-Yahya underscored the strong and distinguished relations between Kuwait and Britain, citing collaborative efforts to strengthen cooperation. He mentioned agreements signed during the recent visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad to Britain and hinted at upcoming joint agreements across various fields. The Foreign Minister assured that announcements about these agreements will be made soon, reflecting the commitment to advancing bilateral ties.
