Doha Film Institute Launched The Football Filmmaking Challenge
The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and the Doha Film Institute have announced cooperation to establish a 'Football Filmmaking Challenge.' Aspiring filmmakers between the ages of 18 and 25 can attend a specialized workshop offered by the Institute to develop short films centered on the theme of football, which will be judged by a special jury.
The 'Football Filmmaking Challenge' is inspired by Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM and will exhibit the world's most popular sport's passion. The filmmaking competition will take place at Katara from May 21 to June 23. This hands-on session will provide a thorough overview of the most important filmmaking tools. Students will acquire all the necessary techniques to make their short films through hands-on exercises, starting with the fundamentals of narrative development and visual storytelling and progressing to film production.

The 'Football Filmmaking Challenge' is based on short film concepts that must express the filmmaker's passion for both film and football. Selected candidates will undergo intensive seminars on several aspects of short filmmaking at the Doha Film Institute, supervised by specialists. They will be assisted in completing their projects from writing to screen. The many films produced will be judged on a variety of factors, including creativity, subject matter, and filmmaking style.
