Did the Karan Johar Spoof Go Too Far?
The Bollywood filmmaker criticized a comedian for mimicking him.
Bollywood filmmaker and TV personality Karan Johar took to his Instagram to criticize a comedian for mimicking him.
The Bollywood director wrote in his Instagram story, "[I] saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel ... a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste."
Johar added, "I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people but when your own industry can disrespect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years it speaks volumes about the times we live in... this doesn't even anger me it just makes me sad!"

Although Johar did not take any names, many netizens on Reddit attempted to decode the filmmaker's post and concluded that he was talking about comedian Kettan Singh from Sony TV's comedy show "Madness Machayenge".
Sony TV recently shared a promo from the show that features Singh calling Johar's celebrity talk show 'Toffee with Churan'.
After Johar's post, Singh said in an interview with Times Now, "I would like to apologise to Karan (Johar) sir...If my actions hurt him, I would like to apologise to him. My intention was not to hurt him. I just wanted to entertain the audience but if I did something extra, I would like to say sorry to him."
After directing the hit film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani', Johar is now producing 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' featuring Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor and an untitled project featuring Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan.
