Most school students in the UAE return to their classrooms on Monday, August 29, and regarding this, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced a set of updates regarding COVID-19 protocols in a media conference, and here are the most important details you want to know.
Is the Vaccine Required to Register for the New Academic Year?
NCEMA announced that starting from the new academic year, all students can register, including those who have not been vaccinated for health reasons.
Is a PCR Required to Go Back to School?
According to the recently announced updated protocols, students from the age of 12 and over, administrative staff, and all educational staff are required to present a negative PCR test result that doesn’t exceed 96 hours from the beginning of the first school day.
It is worth noting that periodic examinations are no longer required and only a symptomatic strategy will be adopted.
Will Students’ Temperature Be Checked Daily?
There will be no need for temperature checks, provided that no one with a high temperature comes to school.
Are Masks Mandatory in Schools?
Masks are mandatory in all enclosed spaces, including schools knowing that there is the option to work and learn remotely for anyone infected with Covid-19 or experiencing any symptoms related to the virus.
