The art of murals is one of the oldest forms of human art, as art was the only way for man to record history and embody civilizations, and it is still to this day a creative way to create public awareness of certain issues as well as strengthen political and societal identities, in addition, to enrich the aesthetic scene of the region and bring pleasure to the souls of passersby.

In this regard, Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, which is concerned with making Dubai one of the best cities to live in the whole world, has launched the Dubai Street Museum initiative, which aims to transform the emirate into a colorful piece of art. About Dubai Street Art Museum

Within the framework of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness' directives to transform Dubai into an open museum, "Brand Dubai", the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, announced the launch of a new project that includes decorating different areas of the emirate with huge artistic murals in cooperation with a selection of Emirati and international artists. This project included a large number of murals and artwork that added a special luster to the areas of the emirate.

Dubai Street Museum Murals

Brand Dubai has implemented many murals and creative formations in different areas of Dubai, in partnership with a number of governmental and semi-governmental agencies. The following are the most prominent of these murals.

Jumeirah Murals

Work was done on the Jumeirah murals within the fourth phase of the Dubai Art Museum launched by Brand Dubai in cooperation with the Dubai Municipality, in which 14 artists participated, who worked on 22 artworks adorning both sides of Jumeirah Street, extending from the Dubai Water Canal to the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai.

Al Mustaqbal Street Murals

This project was implemented in cooperation with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and includes 3 huge artistic murals that adorn three buildings of DEWA substations.

The first mural includes a picture of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is on his horse after His Highness won Al Qudra Desert Race, next to it is a verse from one of His Highness' poems expressing his love for horses, while the second mural depicts the first Emirati astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri, while the third mural shows the country's interest in artificial intelligence techniques and was implemented by a group of the most famous visual artists in the world.

Jumeirah Stations Murals

Brand Dubai and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority cooperated to implement the "Memories of Jumeirah” project, which includes 8 artistic murals to transform 8 major public transport stations on Jumeirah Street into creative works that show the artistic side of the emirate, and all these murals are inspired by the memories of Jumeirah and its past.

DIFC Mural

This mural was executed by a creative Emirati artist to celebrate the 46th National Day. It includes two pictures, one of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the other of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

Dubai Metro Murals

This project included a large group of large artistic murals that adorn the Dubai Metro Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Road in the area between the Emirates Towers and the Dubai International Financial Center stations.

Hatta Dam Mural

The Hatta Dam mural is one of the largest artistic murals in the world and includes pictures of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoob. This mural aims to enhance the value of the area, which is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the emirate.

The 2nd of December Street Mural

The 2nd of December Street mural commemorates the 44th anniversary of the UAE foundation and was executed with the participation of a group of the most famous creative artists.
