Expo 2020 continues to dazzle the world with its unique events and exhibition. This Saturday a very unique exhibition will take place in the Sri Lanka Pavilion called ‘The Days of Sapphire’ in which stunning gemstones valuing $100 million will be displayed.
Among the treasures showcased is a gem estimated to be more than 1,000 years old called the Kufic Arabic, which dates back to the 10th century.
It has been documented that Sri Lanka is rich in gems dating back to the 2nd century, while explorer Ibn Battuta wrote all about the land's unique sets of gems and jewelry in the 14th century.
Anyone with an expo ticket can attend the sapphire show at the Sri Lanka pavilion from 10 am to 9 pm on Saturday, February 26th.
