Faisal Al-Otaibi, head of the Camps Committee at Kuwait Municipality, has announced the approval of 18 camping sites for the upcoming season, which starts in mid-November. However, six previously designated sites have been canceled, including locations in Al-Oyoun, Al-Abdaliyya, and two near the Al-Julaia camp.
The decision to approve or cancel certain sites was made in coordination with relevant authorities, prioritizing areas that should be avoided for environmental or logistical reasons. Field teams have already begun preparing the approved camping areas by clearing obstacles and distributing containers of various sizes for waste management and convenience.

Barbecue and Shisha Ban on Coastal Strip
In a separate announcement, Al-Otaibi revealed a new ban on barbecues and shisha smoking along Kuwait’s coastal strip due to ongoing maintenance work. The ban was introduced at the request of the Tourism Projects Company and applies to green spaces, sidewalks, and sandy areas near the coast. The ban will remain in place until further notice.
Authorities have made it clear that legal action will be taken against those who violate the new regulations. Inspection teams, in collaboration with various government agencies, will patrol beaches to enforce the restrictions.
Currently, barbecuing is still permitted at Al-Aqila Beach and Al-Khiran Beach, offering residents and visitors an alternative location for outdoor cooking.
Preparing for Camping Season
As Kuwait gears up for camping season, the municipality is taking active steps to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for campers by preparing approved sites and enforcing rules that protect public spaces.
Campers and beachgoers are encouraged to stay informed about the latest regulations and respect the rules in place to maintain the safety and cleanliness of the environment.
