Emara
Created by cartoonist Fatma Almheiri in the UAE, Emara is a cape-wearing superhero who jets around the city, fighting criminals with her Arm Cannons. This hijab-wearing crimefighter is the superhero alter ego of a young Emirati girl called Moza.
Black Adam
The supervillain was originally portrayed as an ancient Egyptian named Teth-Adam by DC Comics in the 1940s. Black Adam was Egypt’s greatest champion until he got corrupted by a demonic entity known as Blaze.
Nightrunner
Nightrunner is a 25-year-old Algerian immigrant called Bilal Asselah who lives in Clichy-sous-Bois in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. The DC Comics character made his debut in 2011.
Aladdin
Aladdin is a fictional character in Disney's animated film Aladdin, a folk tale of Middle Eastern origin. The film is derived from the book of One Thousand and One Nights (also called The Arabian Nights).
Jasmine
Jasmine is a fictional character who appears in Disney's animated feature film Aladdin. She is the spirited daughter of the Sultan, who has grown weary of her life of palace confinement.
Note: This may shock you, but when analyzing Aladdin's literary origin, he is described as a boy from one of the cities in China. However, some experts argue that his cultural origin is in fact rooted in Arab culture.
