The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, signed a cooperation protocol with the Belgian Organization for Child Protection with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two parties.

The cooperation agreement aims to achieve the common goals of the two sides, by creating a sustainable and practical framework between them to enhance the quality of services provided to children, and to support the capabilities of regional and national partners through a sustainable program based on providing the highest levels of care and social protection provided to children.

According to this cooperation, this agreement will be activated between the two parties, by organizing many events, activities, and awareness campaigns, in addition to organizing many training courses and workshops to serve the target groups and striving to achieve continuous development in the field of protection and social rehabilitation by benefiting from studies and research related to issues of children.

In this context, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ishaq, Executive Director of Aman Center, stressed the importance of signing cooperation protocols with several international and regional organizations, noting that the Center’s cooperation with the Belgian organization will contribute to achieving benefit for both parties, through the exchange of experiences, information, and data related to The progress of work, in addition to the keenness of the two sides to achieve innovation and development in the proposals for work mechanisms in the field of child social protection.

And he explained that this cooperation will contribute to highlighting the role and services of the Aman Center for the targeted groups of women and children, and victims of family breakdown from violence, by transferring the center's experience in providing the necessary protection to reduce violence at the international and regional levels.

For her part, Ms. Heidi de Beau, CEO of Child Focus, expressed "the importance of activating the international partnership with the State of Qatar, especially with the Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation (Aman). Through the cooperation protocol, several events, awareness sessions, and discussion sessions will be held on issues related to children. ".

Mrs. Heidi praised the level of services provided to children at the Aman Center and stressed the need to benefit from this model at the international level.

The Belgian International Organization (Child Focus), which was established in 1998 at the initiative of the families of the victims, is an organization that combats the phenomenon of disappearance and exploitation of children and calls on the population to honor the victims and to reiterate the support of the parents and relatives of the missing children.

On October 20, 1996, nearly 300,000 Belgian citizens stayed on the streets of the capital to demand the improvement of the functioning of the judicial system, and the provision of protection, care and support for these children.

It is worth noting that the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman) is concerned with the protection and rehabilitation of women and children victims of violence and family breakdown, and their reintegration into society.
