All You Need to Know About WhatsApp New Features
The release of new features and improvements for WhatsApp has been highly anticipated by users. These include the capability to use landscape mode, transfer chats from one phone to another, and more.
According to WABetaInfo, the most recent WhatsApp update for iOS is currently accessible on the App Store and has the version number 23.14.79.
What are the new features?
- Transferring WhatsApp chats to a new iPhone
This feature will enable you to smoothly move your account history to a new iPhone without an iCloud backup, starting with the conversation transfer option. As a result, users may still move all of their data to a new device even if they haven't backed up their chats. Select Settings > Chats > Transfer Chats to iPhone to carry out this action.
- Silence calls from people you don't know
There are a lot of people that will find this function useful. As the name implies, you can block unknown callers on WhatsApp with this feature. This is accessible under Settings > Privacy > Calls > Silence Unknown Callers. Any WhatsApp call from an unknown number will now be instantly silenced. However, it will still be available in the notifications tab.
- Video calls in landscape mode
There is now a landscape mode for the video call screen, which will provide users with an alternative orientation to portrait. Users may now easily flip their phone to landscape mode when making video calls on WhatsApp. The video screen will still be the same in landscape mode; users will just have a larger view of the call. This can come in handy if the user is on a group video call with several other people.
- Improved sticker tray
It is now simpler to switch between WhatsApp GIFs and stickers thanks to the redesigned sticker tray. The search button is on the left, the '+' button is on the right for more stickers, and the GIFs and stickers are positioned in the center.
- High-Quality Videos
A feature on the iOS beta that enables users to send high-quality videos was reportedly being rolled out by the business earlier this month. Although the video dimensions are preserved by this function, a small amount of compression will still be done to the video; transferring videos at their original quality is therefore not possible.
Users must always choose the high-quality option in order to send videos with better quality because the default setting for all videos is always "Standard quality."
