As the summer season approaches, Kuwait's Al-Jahra has already made headlines by recording the highest temperature in the world on Friday May 31st, 2024, soaring above 50 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists attribute the extreme heat to a prevailing heatwave affecting the Gulf region, resulting in temperatures surpassing their typical levels by 4-8 degrees Celsius.

According to Kuwaiti Meteorologist Fahd Al-Otaibi, the weather station in Al-Jahra reported a scorching temperature of 51 degrees Celsius, marking it as the hottest location globally for the day.
