Carrying approximately 40 tons of food, medical supplies, and blankets, the relief shipment was organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS). Kuwait’s Charge d’Affaires, Abdullah Al-Shaheen, confirmed that these provisions will be distributed by Lebanon’s Supreme Relief Authority, ensuring that they reach the communities most in need.

Previous Aid and Kuwait’s Steady Support for Lebanon

Kuwait has already sent an initial relief shipment, which was provided to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. This ongoing effort underscores Kuwait’s dedication to Lebanon, with KRCS coordinating the logistics to support displaced and vulnerable families.

Beirut Airport Damaged but Operational

Despite recent attacks near Beirut’s Rafic Hariri Airport, which damaged parts of the terminal and tarmac, Lebanese authorities reported that airport operations are continuing as usual. This resilience ensures that humanitarian aid flights can continue arriving, undeterred by nearby damages.

Ahmad Ibrahim, a representative from Lebanon’s relief authority, expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its long-standing support during crises. He emphasized that the influx of aid is essential as Lebanon faces a surge of displaced individuals, estimated at 1.5 million, all of whom are in urgent need of assistance.
